Sorry
Sorry to everyone who is still checking this out. The last few weeks of school hit me pretty hard and I failed at my "resolution". Either way I'm still making some drawings but I just failed at the every day thing. Don't give up on me though because I will post some drawings every once and again when I get around to it.

Drawing 60-62/Transcription 9 Art Song
I have to write an Art Song for my theory class at school and when I started that I failed at this. I have put to much thought into this assignment and I didn't draw or do a transcription. I feel this is a good excuse though and I will try to carry on as normal from here on out. I will also post it when I am finished. I honestly don't think it is going to be that good but it is still taking a lot of creative thought.

Transcription 5 Horace Silver-Cool Eyes
We are playing this song in jazz at school right now and I have a solo so here is another little bit that I will probably use to make myself sound better than I actually am. This is from Horace Silver's solo on his album Six Pieces of Silver from 1956. The others n this album are Donald Byrd (t), Hank Mobley (ts), Doug Watkins (b) and Louis Hayes (d). Please visit this link here to find out more about Horace Silver and how fantastic he is.

Drawing 33 Fish
As some may know I have had a saltwater fish tank up and running for about 2 months now. Today I got my first actual fish for it and drew it. It's a Fire Goby (Nemateleotris magnifica). Here is some other info on the tank if you would like to see.

Transcription 4 Lee Morgan-Moanin'
This is a little part of Lee Morgan's solo on Moanin. I just learned that Lee Morgan's wife shot him in the face while he was on stage. I guess thats what you get when you cheat on your wife. The others on this album are Benny Golson (ts), Bobby Timmons (p), Jaymie Merritt (b), and Art Blakey (d). For more info on Lee Morgan go here.

Transcription 3 Blue Mitchell-Cool Eyes
This is part of blue Mitchell's solo from the Horace Silver tune Cool Eyes. The following was taken from the about this video in youtube.
"The enormously popular Horace Silver Quintet play their signature tune, "Cool Eyes" during a 1959 broadcast for the Dutch KRO Company (KRO stands for Catholic Radio Broadcaster). These broadcasts were usually done during the day in a theater close to Hilversum, the Dutch radio and TV town. I vaguely remember that the public during these radio- and TV performances was usually invited and tickets were free. When one looks at this audience there is very little that would inspire any musician and maybe that is why the band had their backs towards that audience.
The music played is certainly inspired, well recorded and with great close-ups of the musicians.
Pianist Horace Silver together with trumpeter Blue Mitchell, tenor saxophonist Junior Cook, bassist Gene Tailor and drummer Louis Hayes play their new style of hard bop with great flair and skill. The instrumentation of his quintet (trumpet, tenor sax, piano, double bass, and drums) served as a model for small jazz groups from the mid-1950s until the late 1960s."
Here is the video from youtube. Enjoy!
